A very strong and gallant Nigerian soldier stole the show at the recent Nigerian army heavy weight champion display in Bauchi state. The decorated soldier displayed his strength by allowing a military vehicle to climb over his hand after laying on the ground. A Federal High Court in Abuja, has struck out a suit that sought to compel the Federal Government, to prosecute some persons accused of assisting Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to escape from Nigeria. Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode; and two other persons that stood as sureties for the IPOB leader, Tochukwu Uchendu and Emmanuel Shallom Ben, are those the suit prayed the court to order their arrest and prosecution. The plaintiff, Isiah Ayugu, who secured leave of the court to commence the action, in his suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1254/18, insisted that the respondents had a case to answer. Ayugu prayed the court to issue an order of mandamus to force relevant security agencies, to initiate criminal action against those he accused of complicity in Kanu’s escape. The ruling party said Atiku is suffering from post-election depression following his claim that he that he defeated Buhari with 1,615,302 votes. Gunmen have killed a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Clement Ugwu, who was kidnapped from his Parish , St Mark Catholic Church, Obinofia Ndiuno in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State .   The body of late Fr. Ugwu was found in a bush decomposing on Wednesday morning , a week after he was allegedly kidnapped. It was gathered that Rev . Fr . Ugwu was kidnapped on Wednesday 13 , March 2019 , around 9 : 00 p. m. after they had shot him in his church premises.   Speaking shortly after his remains were laid to rest at the Catholic cemetery at the Holy Ghost Cathedral , the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev . Callistus Onaga, called on the police to fish out the killers of the priest.   Bishop Onaga decried the spate of violent killings around the country, advising that Christians should intensified their prayers for the survival of the country.   He said that security agencies could not rescue Fr. We pray for the repose of Rev.Fr. Clement Ugwu from Catholic Diocese of Enugu who was ordained a priest in 2010. He was kidnapped in the parish he was pasturing last week Wednesday. His decayed body was found in a bush today. He has been buried at the priest’s cemetery in Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu State. Indeed, the death of this priest is an immeasurable loss to Bishop Callistus Onaga and his diocese, considering what he was to him and indeed to the universal Church. However, may we find consolation in the good life he lived and the many contributions he made to the mission of the church.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar in the just-completed presidential election has given a breakdown of the number of votes he believed he scored in each of the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory as opposed to that which was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mr Abubakar released the figures in his petition against the outcome of the election filed on Monday, which challenges the declaration of Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the election. On February 27, INEC declared that Mr Buhari won the election in 19 states with a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat Mr Abubakar, who won the election in 18 states polling a total of 11,262,978 votes.
