Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has promised to lead a strong campaign for President Buhari and the APC govcernorship candidate in the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to ensure they win the 2019 elections. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday morning arraigned the immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, for his bail hearing following alleged fraud of N2.2bn. Fayose was earlier arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday, six days after he completed his tenure as governor. He was taken to court from the custody of the EFCC where he had been detained for questioning after he voluntarily submitted himself on Tuesday, October 16. Fayose was brought to the court premises in a white EFCC bus, accompanied by security operatives. He was immediately taken into the courtroom presided over by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun. Justice Olatoregun granted Agabi’s prayer, ordered that Fayose should be remanded in the custody of the EFCC and adjourned till Wednesday, October 24 (today), for the hearing of the bail application.

Nigerian superstar musician, Wizkid, wrapped up performances for the Glo Mega concert in Accra on Saturday night in a rather casual fashion. He came on stage in a black hoodie over a pair of jeans. Underneath it was his pair of slippers over pair of his socks. However, minutes into his performance, he paused to render an apology to the fans and respectable people in the audience, asking them to forgive him for wearing a pair of slippers on stage. He explained he meant no disrespect; rather it was because he arrived in Ghana an hour to his performance. The Enugu State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi has advised parents, especially the mothers, to ensure proper immunization of their children at designated hospitals to enhance their health status as future leaders. Mrs. Ugwuanyi urged the women to document the process of the immunization by ensuring that the dose given to their children is recorded in their cards and presented to the doctors whenever it was time for the routine exercise to avoid double dosage. The Israeli government has said there is no evidence to prove that the leader of the proscribed secessionist group, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was or is in their country. Chinese President has officially opened the 55km world’s longest sea crossing bridge. The sixth longest bridge on earth took nine years to complete. The new bridge connects Hong Kong to Macau and the mainland Chinese city of Zhuhai. It will cut travelling time between Zhuhai and Hong Kong from about four hours to just 30 minutes. Built at the cost about $20bn (that is about ₦7.3trillion) and designed to last 120 years ,the mega structure is strong enough to withstand earthquakes and typhoons. Part of the total crossing consists of a 30km bridge that crosses the sea. A 6.7km underwater tunnel also runs between two artificial islands to allow large cargo ship containers to pass through. To put the length of the bridge into perspective, the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos (the second longest bridge in Africa) has a total length of 11.8 km.
