Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has rejected the bail granted him by Binta Nyako, justice of the federal high court, Abuja. Nyako had granted Kanu bail on stringent terms on Tuesday. One of the conditions is that he must present a Jewish leader as surety. But a family source told TheCable that the IPOB leader had rejected the order for his conditional release. ¤ “Nnamdi Kanu has said he will not accept the bail until other persons he was charged alongside are granted bail as well,” the source said. • “You know how he is. That is his decision.” However, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lawyer, said his client had not rejected the bail. A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the director of the Indigenious People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. The trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako granted Kanu bail on health ground today April 25th. As part of his bail conditions, Kanu is expected to provide three sureties with N100 million each. The sureties must include a serving senator, a jewish religious leader and a highly respected person that must own a land property anywhere in Abuja. Justice Binta also ordered that Kanu must not grant any press interview or organize any rally pending the outcome of his trial.
