Chelsea 4-0 Brentford

Image
Branislav Ivanovic scored on his potential farewell appearance as Chelsea beat neighbours Brentford 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge. Brentford, 15th in the Championship, took Chelsea to a replay four years ago, but there was little prospect of a repeat as the Blues claimed a 10th successive home win. Willian, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi, with a penalty, were also on target for the Premier League leaders, whose only concern came when Willian went off midway through the second half after earlier holding his ankle. Ivanovic replaced Willian and scored his 34th Chelsea goal on his 377th appearance, amid suggestions his nine-year stay at Stamford Bridge could come to an end before Tuesday's transfer deadline. Asmir Begovic, who will be allowed to leave for Bournemouth if Chelsea can find a replacement, made a number of key interventions to deny Brentford and show his value as Thibaut Courtois' back-up. Another potential goodbye came

Mark Zuckerberg criticizes Donald Trump on immigration

Image
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg expressed concern on Friday over Trump's latest executive orders on immigration and refugees. "My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla's parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that. Like many of you, I'm concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump" Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post, which cited his family's immigrant background and his volunteer work with undocumented schoolchildren. "We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That's who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla's family wouldn't be here today" Zuckerberg wrote. On Friday, Trump signed an executive order calling for "extreme vetting" of refugees, following through on promises on the campaign trail.

Five Star Music label has now issued a statement on why they are taking legal actions against Harrysong. The label also advised the general public to tread with caution and desist from transacting any business with Mr. Harry Tare Okri, as same is both illegal and a total breach of his existing contract with Five Star Music Label. Read below. It has become both imperative and necessary to state our position on the ongoing misguided and fallacious news making the rounds in the media between our esteemed record label and Mr. Harry Tare Okri. Sometime in 2008 when Mr. Harry first approached our record label for a music contract, we immediately declined the request when we found out that he had a subsisting contract with one Mr. Kevin Luciano of ‘Question Mark Entertainment Label’. All efforts then by Mr. Harry to influence our management proved abortive as our

2017 UTME: JAMB, NECO, WAEC, NABTEB Harmonise Examination Time-Table

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday said it has agreed on a harmonised time-table with other examination bodies ahead of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The decision, the board said, would lead to a hitch free examination. The board at a brainstorming meeting with the National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Business and Technical Examination (NABTEB) held at JAMB’s headquarters in Abuja unanimously agreed to harmonise the examination timetable because of the candidates’ desire for qualitative tertiary education. The Spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement late on Tuesday night in Abuja, said the harmonised examination timetable had put to rest problems arising from overlapping of examination dates which would have disenfranchised a sizeable number of candidates from writing the examination. “At the end of the brainstorming session, the bodie
