Chelsea are the new Premier League champions after beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at The Hawthorns.
Forgotten man Michy Batshuayi was the unlikely goalscoring hero as The Blues snatched a late victory over The Baggies. West Bromwich Albion started the match well and Salomon Rondon’s looping header troubled Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois early on. Pedro went close early in the match on three occasions while defenders Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta also saw efforts go just wide. The Blues were inches away from taking the lead 20 minutes into the contest but Cahill’s fizzing effort was bravely blocked by Gareth McAuley. Cesc Fabregas struck another Chelsea effort wide as the first half ended goalless with very few clear goalscoring chances being produced. The second half started with Pedro again worrying home keeper Ben Foster but the player saw another shot go wide while Diego Costa struggled to get off a shot as he was tightly marked by the home defence.
