Here's what supposedly caused the riot at Kirikiri Prisons yesterday

There were reports earlier yesterday that inmates of Kirikiri Medium Prisons attempted a jail break leading to the death & injury of many. But according to new reports, it may not have been a jail break Now this is not confirmed but according to someone who is involved in Prison Outreach and was supposed to be at prison tomorrow, he got a mail from the co-ordinator of the outreach informing them that their visit has been cancelled due to an incident at the prison this afternoon. In the email that was sent out, what happened at the prison was explained. See it after the cut... Please be advised that the Prison Outreach for tomorrow at Kirikiri Prisons has been cancelled. Apparently, at the Kirikiri Medium Prison , the inmate GO bought himself a microphone and a fan with his own money today and the Deputy Controller of the prison did not approve of it. Google restores Linda Ikeji Blog after she threatens to dump blogspot service

The past few days has been a bit of a hurricane for NIgeria’s most successful blogger, Linda Ikeji as her online asset was taken down by Google after a complaint from one Mr. Aye Dee, a friend turned foe. According to information posted by Linda, Aye Dee whose full name is Mukhtar Alexander Dan’Iyan confessed to reporting her to Google because she did not reply his emails and messages for over a year. Excerpts of a recent conversation between Linda and Aye Dee were posted on Linda’s blog by the blogger and it depicted a deeply troubled Mukhtar who was afraid and angry Linda was deliberately ignoring him and decided to take matters into his own hand by terminating her blog. Google Finally Explains Why Linda Ikeji’s Blog Was Deleted

Google has finally weighed in on the controversy surrounding Linda Ikeji’s blog, explaining why it was removed. Google’s Manager for Communications and Public Affairs, Anglo-Phone West Africa, Taiwo Kolade-Ogunlade explained to Punch newspaper why the popular news site had to be removed. “To respect the rights of copyright holders, Google clearly spells out how users of its products and services can get permission to use someone else’s intellectual property such as text, songs, images and footages. BREAKING NEWS: Linda Ikeji's Blog Deleted

A visit to Linda Ikeji's blog on www.lindaikeji.blogspot.com reveals the screen below. We reported earlier that Linda Ikeji had issues with a blogger, Mr. Aye Dee and Google over copyright material, a case which Google had already begun to look into. Things took an interesting twist when the gossip blogger released personal information about the man who she believed was witch hunting her. She wrote a post dedicated to that, shunning him as someone who was against her progress. As at when we visited her site, we saw the screen above. [Update] Interestingly, her mobile site is still functional as at the time of this update.
