Abuja Explosion: Suspected Bomber Killed By Soldiers, Another Arrested

The Coordinator, National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, disclosed yesterday that one of the suspected bombers of Emab Plaza on Aminu Kano Crescent in Wuse 2 in Abuja was killed by soldiers killed and arrested another. Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Omeri said that the attackers came on a power bike and planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by the entrance of the shopping mall. He added that 21 persons had died from the blast while 17 others sustained injuries and several vehicles were damaged. According to report, the injured victims are receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Wuse General Hospital and Maitama General Hospital. Related: Kano Bomber Finally Caught During his visit to the Maitama hospital, FCT Minister Bala Mohammed assured the people that the Federal Government would foot the medical bills of the victims while also calling on residents to be very vigilante and report any suspicious movements to security agencies. Yesterday's bomb blast at Emab plaza is coming on the heels of an explosion which rocked Nyanya in Abuja in May, leaving many dead and several injured.
