Chelsea playmaker Eden
Hazard has come to the
defence of his under-fire
teammate Fernando Torres. The £32million summer signing
believes Torres has been unfairly
treated by critics of the
Stamford Bridge and insisted the
Spaniard would come good again. Hazard even claimed Chelsea’s
£50million record signing was
criticised more than any other
player in football and feels he
has to deal with greater
pressure. The Blues winger then voiced his
confidence that Torres would
stay with Chelsea and continue
to find the net. “He's the most criticised player
in the world. When we play bad
they all say that it is his fault,” he reportedly told French
newspaper l’Equipe . “However, he will remain with us
and he will continue to make a
lot of goals for us.” Torres has failed to fire in the
Premier League this season only
scoring seven times but has
been in good form in the Europa
League of late. While much criticism has been
thrown at him for failing to
rediscover the devastating form
he showed while at Liverpool,
Torres has managed to score 19
goals in all competitions this season.
